Just becaus it was published does not make it a correct record....

In defence of his great-great-grandfather Lyman Granger Wright, Dixon County researcher Bob Couch would like to set the record straight....

Below is a bit of incorrect information that he has found in one of the older published Nebraska History books pertaining to Martinsburg, Nebraska:

The Post office was established in 1879, and at the time named Justice; but in 1881 it was changed to Martinsburgh. Dennis Hurley was first Postmaster.
Bob sets the record
straight
It was 1876 and the first Postmaster was great-great grandfather

Dixon County Courthouse / Dixon CountyClerk

P.O. Box 546, Ponca NE  68770, (402) 755-2208. Note: At the time of my visit to the county courthouse, their charge for copying deeds etc.. were 25 cents each and marriage records were 1.00 each. I believe that they will also do a search for you for 50 cents per search plus copy charges. These prices may change at any time. They do have a nice small table area set up for researchers. I have found these folks to be very friendly and helpful.  Robin
