I know that their daughter Wilma Mae Lake was born in the Long Pine or Ainsworth, Nebraska area so they must have relocated before Oct 1912. Fred is buried in the Ainsworth Cemetery. BOSTWICK, MARTINSON, SEVERSON, LAKE, STUKAS
05/27/02
BOSTWICK, MARTINSON, SEVERSON, LAKE, STUKAS - My grandfather Guy Bostwick (born April 15, 1880) was born in New York state but came to the Ponca area with his family in the late 1880's or early 1890's; the family then moved to Minn.
He later returned and is found in the 1900 census boarding in Ionia. On Jan. 1, 1906 he married Christina MARTINSON in Lime Grove, her parents were Christian and Gunda Maria (OLSON) MARTINSON.
Maria had relatives in the Lime Grove area by the name of SEVERSON. Guy had an uncle by the name of George LAKE who married Alice AUSTIN in Ponca in the 1890's. Guy's sister Annice married a STUKAS and had several children: Harold, Mary Jane and others. Guy's brother Frank married Irene STUKAS and they had Bill, Norwin, and Etta.
Guy and Christina ran a hotel in Newcastle for a short time in the early years of their marriage. He was a carpenter by trade and worked in the Newcastle and Ponca area besides traveling to Sioux City and other places.
The family lived in Sioux City several times but mainly lived south (?) of Maskell, out towards the Chris Martinson farm. They had six children: Victor, Howard, Francis, Charlotte, Hugh and Orin. I know my Bostwick family but would appreciate stories about them.
Thank you for any help. Mary Ann
