Teacher Charles W. Schram was born January 1, 1854 in Peeksill, New York.

"Although he was able to attend public school a few months at a time during his childhood, he was largely self-educated. He dedicated himself to public service. He taught school for several years and helped organize several school districts in the county. He served as a member of the Dixon County board of supervisors and was a member of the legislature at the time of his death in 1897." Quoted from newspaper article.
